At Eventi Inc., we don't rely on one single investment approach. Every deal has been, and will be different. One of the primary benefits of our unique approach is our ability and willingness to get more involved in managing day-to-day operations.
We don't pick winners. We help create them.
We do not sit passively on a board of directors and judge results, or set unrealistic expectations. We only set goals we are willing take responsibility for delivering. We have completed deals in the past where we acquire our equity through leading a restructuring, acquiring assets, taking equity for services and the more traditional method of buying a stake. What's more, we have more than our capital at risk with our investment; we have our reputation.
Examples of how Eventi invests:
- We generally take a material equity interest but usually never a controlling interest.
- We take active roles in running the business - not a passive investor
- We help to introduce new board of directors with industry expertise
Eventi takes a long-term view of the business opportunities and can afford to be patient. With sophisticated and seasoned private equity investors, we have realistic expectations on the time it takes to effect change and reap the rewards.
What we look for
Domain Expertise
Eventi invests in domain experts with a proven track record in their industry.
Eventi does not intend to become the principal operator of any of its
investment companies. The Team has found that many of the best investment
opportunities have been derived from companies and entrepreneurs that
started out as consultants and subsequently developed domain expertise
by working directly with paying customers and addressing real-world challenges.
Due to the intimate nature of the working relationship, chemistry with
the entrepreneur running the business is critical.
Recurring Revenue
One of the key criteria in evaluating potential investments is the ability
to drive recurring revenues through long term contracts. An existing and
growing base of recurring revenues will help to demonstrate market acceptance
of the product or service and ultimately creates revenue visibility that
enables more efficient organizational and infrastructure sizing.
Contribution Margin
Eventi must be convinced that a minimum efficient scale has been reached
or is in within reach, after which contribution margins should accelerate.
Most of the target companies will have some level of infrastructure investment
required to effectively operate in their segment.
Industry Leadership
Eventi is looking for companies that demonstrate the potential to be the
number 1 or number 2 player in its industry and/or geographical trading
zone. In the past, the Eventi Team has helped its investees define market
segments in which they could take a leadership position.
Geographical Expansion
Eventi seeks opportunities that demonstrate an ability to efficiently
transition into new geographical markets once the company understands
how to scale its revenues and operations in its' local market.
Network Leverage
Any investment opportunity must demonstrate early evidence that the Eventi
network can be leveraged to accelerate the key success factors. Eventi's
value proposition to both investors and entrepreneurs extends beyond capital
and the ability to pick winners. A key component in the due diligence
process involves introducing potential investments to the Eventi network
and attempting to add value before completing a transaction.
